I have been in touch with my County Commissioner, well actually Abby Schrader with the Division Services Administrator -Environmental Stewardship Phone: 612-499-9190, because my County Commissioner Marion Green for 3rd District, couldnt be bothered with something so Trivial as Dangerous Sidewalks all over Minneapolis. What I was told by Ms. Schrader is that "Yes Minneapolis homeowners and businesses owners are 100% responsible for the Damaged Sidewalks caused by the Trees that are owned and planted by the Minneapolis Parks Board, Department of Forestry and the City of Minneapolis." They do not care about the expenses that this is causes the homeowners. When in fact many of the homeowners inherit these costs and fees when they purchase their homes, yet they are not informed of that by the City Of Minneapolis. I know I never was. Contact your County Commissioner and let them know that we should not be burdened with the cost of repairing the sidewalks that are being destroyed by the City Owned and Planted Tree. Our own Propterty Taxes do not cover the sidewalks.

I too have tried to reach out to my County Commissioner and they seem to not care at all. I dont get it, they get all these grants for the streets and roads but they wont do, no they refuse to do anything for the sidewalks. That is B.S. I wish we could vote them out.
